Light hummed as he focused intently on his spell, on his silent call to the earth and ground to l i s t e n to his wishes. He wanted to make a gift, something exceedingly simple but as is to be expected from an idiot. He wanted something special too though.

As he focused, he centred the image of what he wanted in his mind. And after a few moments, he found himself in the possession of a flexible but stable plant-woven bracelet with, yes, everlasting flowers with dainty red rosebuds and moonflowers alike.

He found himself grinning as he inspected it, and once he was sure, abso/lutely/ sure it was perfect, he got up from his nested space just at the edge of the trees and headed homeward.

Light had a reason for this, and he could hardly contain his excitement. He found himself flitting over small obstacles rather than stepping, and there was an unusual energetic air about him, and it got stronger when he had approached the home he shared with a very perfect opposite.

"Elke! Hey, c'mere, I need you for a second!" He was quick to speak this time, and when she looped around the corner of a wall, he had beat her to the (most likely literal) punch to swoop on over and plant a very sweet, but short kiss to her lips. Which, seemed to take her off guard very instantly.

"Light? What in the heavens has gotten into you — oh!"

He had opened his hands before she could finish, and the way his blue eyes shone with absolute pride and… immense love, as he offered it to her, again seemed to very much take her off guard! He was proud of that too.

"IIIII spent my day making you this because I love you, and I want you to always remember that, even if I ever do something really dumb or if you ever end up hating me. Okay? I made it your favourite, rosebuds. And they won't die on you, not as long as…?"

The tears in her eyes had his voice soften at the end, and end in a questioning tone. He wasn't the best with facial expressions so, he had drawn it back a fraction of an inch, "Hey, hey, wait, did I do something wrong, Elke? I can get rid of it if you don't like it, or I co—"

"NO! No!" He was immediately interrupted by the Yell and a sudden iron grip on his wrist. He was worried more than anything, but he stayed still, even as she took a moment to wipe her eyes and give him the biggest, warmest smile he had seen practically once in a blue moon. And she yanked him down, giving him a crushing hug, one hand smoothing his hair back as she did so. "You big dumb idiot, it's perfect… it's absolutely perfect, don't you /dare/ take it away." And he felt a sun-warm kiss to the side of his head, prompting an immediate flush across his cheeks.

A few more moments later, and she had let go, leaning back to surprisingly carefully take up the bracelet and slip it on. Light gave it a small tap, and the stems of the endless plant tightened just enough to where it couldn't accidentally slip off. And he gave a smile, taking that hand in his just to press a kiss to her knuckles.

"So it is wished, so it shall be. Now, any plans for dinner… or am I cooking again?"

The roll of her eyes couldn't mask the smile she had, and he cracked into a grin as she lead him into the kitchen.

This was what he lived for, his day to day happiness with his beloved. Sure he wasn't the most intelligent, but he was caring. Intensely so. And he devoted so much of his time to /her,/ to Elke. To his love. He could only hope he did enough for her.
