Statement on JJK S2 production (from a former mappa and jjk animator)

Hello, everyone.
I decided to write this message because we must continue to inform people about the critical situation regarding working conditions in the Japanese animation sector. I’m a 34-year-old Japanese animator, and I’ve been in this business for 15 years now. Today I decided to speak because I was unfairly fired from my job after being treated badly by my employer. I fell seriously ill and depressed after working hard, until I had to sleep on the street next to the offices or in the washrooms of my workplace to save time. I ate very little (I lost 7kg) and gave up my hygiene. I worked for the studio MAPPA and the series Jujutsu Kaisen mainly (I am present on all episodes pairs of season 1 and the film). I’ve seen a lot of messages on social networks complaining about the studio’s communication on the animated series Jujutsu Kaisen, because information like trailers is missing. The answer is simple: Jujutsu Kaisen is the studio’s most troubled current series. Since Director Park left the team to focus on his projects, our working conditions have deteriorated significantly. The amount of work required exceeds our means, I dreamed of working for the Chainsaw Man series instead.
The first will arrive very soon, but you will have to lower your expectations, because the team is barely finishing the first court. The video that will arrive to present the new season has been pre-animated because the episodes are late.

I write this message because I feel dirty, and sad, that I have to stop my passion because my health follows more and that it is difficult to find work when you are fired in Japan. I felt I needed to talk somewhere. Thank you for reading me, I used a translator don’t blame me. I need help.
