Leading by example - My future

Hello reader,

If you don´t know me yet, allow me to introduce myself. I am Jonas "Behemoth" Kohlheyer, 22 years old and I study Geography. I also have been a Coach in various positions on an ERL/ERL2 Level for a bit over a year now.

This last split at mYinsanity has been my first split in the position of Head Coach on a level such as this. We have reached 4th Place, which I do not think anyone would have expected.
As you may be aware, our split started rough. We went 0-7 in our first 7 Games, only to then go 9-2 and make Playoffs in what you could consider quite a miracle run. I am proud of myself and the team for sticking it out, though I can not help a nagging feeling I could have prevented our start to begin with, as we played hugely away from the actual team identity we scouted for. Overall it was a decent split, but far from the expectations to myself.
All the players however have massive potential, and I truly believe they can achieve great things. If anything, the scouting and roster we ended up with is probably what I am most proud about, especially with very limited resources.

Now towards the more important topic:
I believe an effective coach should be able to lead by example. Not only guide the players but show the players in his/her own actions the tools they need to succeed. Many Coaches do not have the highest game knowledge, and neither do I. What they lack in this, they make up for in social skills, routines, hard work and a well balanced life.
This is an area I have fallen spectacularly flat on my face my entire life. I struggle with obesity, generally eat like shit, and don´t do enough sport to lead a healthy lifestyle. Part of the reason for this is that I am a person who tends to produce this lifestyle whenever strong stress is impacting my life.
Now some of you may know I just recently moved. This gives me a unique opportunity to start from scratch, so to say, and associate my new environment with a healthy lifestyle and a successful future. This will be my main focus for most likely the rest of the year.
To make these routines and habits long-lasting, I want to somewhat minimize stress in the rest of my life. As such, I will not be actively coaching for a team in the coming split.
I shall use this period in my life to re-evaluate my priorities and I may or may not return once I feel I have my life on a track I want it to be on. All I want is to be inspiring and to be a person players can follow, especially since most of them are younger than I am!

I may also do more content (Casting/Youtube/Solo-Coaching) in my own time, since I still love League and I want to keep up to date with it. If you are interested in working with me on that, feel free to drop me a message.

Thank you all for reading and I wish you guys a nice easter!

TLDR: I will not actively coach a team for summer split, will move to changing my lifestyle and more content in my own time.
