For the people questioning the performance of our team

This post is not supposed to be an excuse.
It's not supposed to entice other clubs to buy our team either - I've always wanted to keep the team if it made sense for the players to.

We always pride ourselves on being transparent, and I feel like now as we head to a christmass break, that it makes sense to provide this piece of information to our fans and followers - to get you all as excited for the teams 2022 as I am!

Our results after the major has definitely been below the standard we want to hold ourselves to, but the team has also had very rough conditions to perform under.
It's a fairly young and inexperienced team, so having the right conditions and support staff around the team is very important - and probably more important for this team, than your average top 20 team.

Pretty quickly after the major, Pita decided to take an offer from Dignitas, leaving us without a head coach. We've been there before, and I've been the sole "coach" of our team before.
However, in our business structure, I am not supposed to be alone with that responsibility, as I have other tasks that I need to do in terms of running and developing the business that is Copenhagen Flames. With the year coming to an end, I've had a busy schedule with budgetting, assisting in sponsorships etc.
On top of that, if we end up selling our team, I've had to prepare a potential new roster - as we want to be ready for the new season in january.
This has bascially left the team without any support structure throughout this period of time. I've done the schedule for the team, and I have been there some time - but compared to what I and also Pita usually did for the team, it has been next to no support.
Could we not just have hired a new coach? We could. That process takes time though, and doesn't make a lot of sense if the team might soon be sold.

On top of this the team has had to constantly think about their future, go through negotiations and make tough decisions. There has been a ton of uncertainty and doubt roaming in the heads of the players, and still is.

This is while still playing 23 official matches since the major.

On top of this, we definitely also had to learn to play a game as favorites, instead of underdogs - and other things you normally go through as a team.

Now in hindsight, could we have done things differently? Played fewer officials or something along those lines. Potentially, yes - but a lot of things also happened along the way that we couldn't predict.

Heading into 2022 we expect the future of the team to be decided, and they'll again have proper support structure around them. With all these things settled, and some big tournaments lined up for the team, 2022 will be a big year.

At this point in time, I still do not know if the future of the team is with Copenhagen Flames or somewhere else. So I don't know if I'll be a part of the teams journey or not, but either way I'm excited for the future of the team.
