Twitter & Twitch are two DIFFERENT Platforms

I'd like to mention something, please take this as advice. I'm not trying to insult anyone but give some of my own insight as a content creator that makes content on Twitch & Youtube and does not spend all my time tweeting on Twitter. No offense to those of you that do only that but I do want to bring one thing into light that I have seen some people in the past become depressed, complain about, or even consider quitting streaming over.

Your twitter-based following no matter how big it is will most likely not even a quarter of it pass over to Twitch. You need to grow on a NEW Platform your account from scratch and I've seen some vtubers become very depressed that there 5k or 10k following on Twitter is so high but no one comes to see their streams or that they can't grow on Twitch and they feel like 'Failures' of entertainers. Because it's a little hard to digest having a big following on Twitter but hardly being able to have any on Twitch and no, it Isn't your fault. Your not a BAD entertainer or boring Vtuber, It's just there two different platforms entirely. Most of your following from Twitch will be people who probably don't even HAVE twitters. And people who AREN'T Vtubers. While taking a look to view your Twitter following and you may notice many of them are other Vtubers because we do like to support each other, but we are often too busy with our own content and streaming to be able to visit our other 100+ Vtuber mutals that if we COULD clone ourselves we would love to support.

It's rough, being a content creator does mean you have to focus ALOT on your own content and you won't always have time to focus on other Vtubers besides making collabs every now and then. Just please don't have this weird expectation that because you have 9k on Twitter it means your going to have 9k right away on Twitch, you do have to grow on a new platform straight up and it WILL take time. And everyone's growth is different, It's just like that and it's normal and it's okay.

Don't compare yourself to bigger Vtubers or streamers and down yourself saying things like 'I'm not entertaining, I'm boring, Maybe I NEED a new model.. Maybe I NEED New overlays, maybe I'm not professional enough, Maybe I'm not CUTE enough.. ' Don't do this to yourself, Instead, why not observe them and see what they do and maybe question yourself what you can do better to improve your content, Aim for something that hasn't been done yet and give it time to trend on Twitter. Don't down yourself and don't complain about other bigger Vtubers, they earned what they have as they grew it from the ground up.

For those of you who are aspiring Vtubers, please don't only tweet. If you're waiting for your model or anything at all, you can find other ways to make content but tweeting only is not the answer for content creation. People who do this only get disappointed when they start streaming and they wonder why no one comes by their streams. It's because you have built that on Twitter and now you have to make it on Twitch too, it does not always pass over and you should NOT have the expectation that it will.

In the end, Please don't focus so much on views and your statistics if you do, you will burn out quickly and lose the passion because you will become obsessed with looking at the viewer counter. Once you say something and you lose 10 viewers you'll doubt yourself and wonder if what you said made people dislike you. It will fester and become a problem, It did for me when I first started and I had to punish myself every time I focused too much on the counter and it DID affect my mood and ability to stream. Don't push yourself as well, if you are depressed and you don't have motivation don't try to push yourself to stream, take a break and take time to yourself. You can allow your community to know via Discord and Twitter.

Don't strive for perfection or what I call 'Company Quality' Like Holo-live or Nijisanji from the very start. Keep in mind, nice Model, nice overlays, nice bgm won't be what keeps your viewers there. They are there for YOU not because of your amazing overlays and setup.. That is just a visual aspect, your personality and your character are what will keep people there. The way you interact with your viewers is what matters and the content you make not the other stuff, that's just extra. You don't have to have all that to start, please don't think you do. You can start small, the beauty of it all is the journey that you go through and the growth and bonds you form.

That's it for mom's Ted Talk, Thanks for coming!
