Future of @FuckFacePod
Yeah, there's no easy way to say this, so I'm just going to say it: For the last 7 months @FuckFacePod has been run by an impostor. I have no affiliation with Rooster Teeth or any of the cast members. In the next few days the account will be transferred to Rooster Teeth and I will no longer have any involvement with it.
You're probably asking yourself a few questions right now, so here's my attempt to pre-emptively answer some of them:
Why did you do this?
I noticed that there wasn't a Twitter account for the podcast like the rest of the ones Rooster Teeth makes and decided to play a little prank. I thought it would be funny, as well as fitting the theme of the show. I did not expect this to go on this long, or to get this many followers without being called out as fake.
Are you affiliated with Rooster Teeth?
Not in any way, shape, or form, just a long-time fan who saw an opportunity.
What did you expect to happen?
I expected it to get called out within a few weeks and for everyone to have a good laugh. I actually made the account the week they mentioned a fake Instagram account and got concerned the ruse was up.
When did you realize things had gone too far?
There were a few instances where I felt things had gone too far. The first was when Geoff followed the account, putting this account right next to the Vice President on his followed list. I can only assume that they realized that the account was fake and decided to let it keep going because they thought it was funny. Another was today when the official Rooster Teeth account tagged this account in a tweet.
Why are you giving up control of the account?
I planned on giving up the account once it hit 10k followers. Because of the account being tagged earlier today this happened a week or two earlier than I had planned. Also, running this account required me to stay up until 3 AM and listen to the podcast in order to set up the tweets, which was very disruptive to my sleep schedule. I guess I really f**kface'd myself with that one.
It has been fun running this account, but all good things must come to an end. I'm a little disappointed that this reveal isn't on the level of Andrew's name not actually being Andrew, but I couldn't have planned for that. If not, there's no pressure to do so. It's been great, but it's time to turn this account over to someone who knows what they're doing.
