I'm heading back to NA a bit early

2020 has been a difficult year for everyone, myself included. On a personal level and a professional level this has certainly been the most challenging year of my career. I’m heading back to Canada and have requested my release from my contract at MCES. The main reason for this is that this was a short term job for both sides and we have different ideas on how we would want to move forward. With the Summer coming to an end, I wanted to give MCES more time to start planning towards whatever they do next. I have enjoyed my time working here so much and met a lot of amazing people. I want to thank them again for letting me coach in Summer after leaving NA in Spring. The second reason I’m heading back is the covid situation. It’s something I would prefer handling in North America and not living in a foreign country where there is discomfort at times. Once again, I’m grateful I was able to coach throughout this year and not have to take a split off and MCES was a great place to be.

With all of that said, it’s time to look forward to the future. I intend to continue coaching next season and return for my 9th year as a professional League of Legends coach. Over the past 2 years spent primarily in North America I’ve been able to work within the Academy system and see several players move up to the LCS and that has continued to give me the drive to succeed.

With that being said, I’m looking to return to NA in 2021. My past 2 years in the region, while incredibly frustrating at times given NA’s culture, have given me hope for the region as a surplus of domestic talent is playing in Academy and many saw LCS play over this past year. It’s an exciting time to be in North America as the next few years will certainly see new players rise and I want to be a part of that.

I’ve been coaching League of Legends professionally now since 2013. I’ve seen this industry become what it is today and I’m incredibly fortunate to have had such a long career. I still have more to offer and I look forward to showing that this upcoming season. Thanks to everyone who supports me and I hope the next time we do one of these, it’s for some good news.
