Six Major 2019

I refuse to bring their name into this, because I believe it is being handled in a better format but I could be wrong.

I would also like to preface this with, a lot of this was preventable and I was old enough that I should have been more cognitive of the signs.

The Saturday, after we got knocked out of the tournament, I headed down to the lobby bar to check on one of our players and decided to have a shot of vodka. There, I was met with someone who I had been a fan of before because of their time in a different esport when I was 12. Her and I picked up a conversation about my heart as she was going into the medical field (i think, it has been a year) and she ordered me a few more shots of vodka. After awhile of talking, we sat in the lounge and another analyst from another team came over. The three of us struck up a conversation about the pilot program and the night carried on.

I went up to my room, but realized I had lost my keycard and couldn't get in because the room was under the orgs name and not mine, so I went back to the lobby to wait for one of my players to respond to DMs and let me back up. I noticed her and the other team's analyst had disappeared but she had left her purse/shoulder bag in the lobby. I waited for a couple hours to see if they would return, but after awhile I was going to leave it at the front desk but then they returned.

At this point it was roughly like 3am and my players were unresponsive. I was talking with the two about being locked out and she offered to let me stay on the couch of her hotel room, which I accepted being as she was important to the event the next day and had to be up at a decent time, so I knew I wouldn't have to deal with waking up too late to meet up with the team the next morning.

I noticed the other analyst getting weird, so I just though either he was planning to spend the night with her or he thought my intentions were a little less pure. At the time I was too drunk to get a decent feel for the mood, but all I knew was I needed to sleep and that was the only place I knew I could safely stay.

The three of us went to her hotel room and she started acting weird. She opened up her laptop and showed us some shitty montage she uploaded for Overwatch and went to go get ready for bed in the bathroom. The other analyst kept pointing towards the door but I was confused and didn't budge at first.

He came over and whispered that she had a tab up on her laptop where she was trying to record us and that she was going to try and have sex with me if she could. Out of shock I snapped out of my drunken confusion and we walked out, but not after he got a picture of her screen showing that she had a tab open with the recording indicator on it.

The analyst knew because apparently at another event, she had a relationship with one of his players and had done the exact same thing. If he hadn't been there for me, I would have been taken advantage of and it recorder for god knows what. So we spent the entire night awake, talking about the situation and what we could do, in the hotel lobby.

The next day, I didn't sleep and someone introduced me to someone else, who shared a similar story of her aiming for young esports professionals, getting them drunk and trying to get them into private spaces and record them.

I bring this up, not because it was a year ago, but because she contacted me last night about the situation and now has people coming to me and talking shit to me because I decided to block her.

I've always stayed as professional as possible when working events, but this situation still shakes me. Maybe it was post loss blues that made me less cognitive of the signs or maybe I am just stupid. At least, I learned to not spend any time at events away from the team or close friends.
