Swifty Statement
Hello all
I usually try to stay away from controversy and do not like to engage or publicly respond to comments or accusations, as I am a non confrontational individual, but I feel that the situation that has come to light in the past few days merits acknowledgement.
I am horrified by the comments and stories posted recently in social media.
No one should be made to feel uncomfortable, undervalued, disrespected or scared and if I unwittingly have caused anyone to feel this way, I sincerely apologize from the bottom of my heart. Had I been made aware of this before, I would have done my best to reach out and rectify any misunderstandings.
My late grandmother, my mother, my three sisters and my niece have always taught me and inspired me to treat everyone with empathy, compassion and, above all, respect. And I feel that I have honored and continue to honor those teachings in the way I treat others in my life.
As for the claims that I have in some way mistreated, manipulated or abused any person that I have had any sort of romantic relationship with: these are false. To my knowledge I have never reacted or behaved in that way, as that is completely contrary to my nature, my personality and my decision making process.
I debated writing out a rebuttal to every false claim, but I’d rather not escalate and turn this into a he said she said situation that becomes much uglier than it already is.
I’ve spent many years of my life dedicated to pursuing my dream of being a contributing member of the gaming world and I have been rewarded ten fold with the support of so many fans and fellow members of the live streaming community. They have inspired me to continue on this journey that I love.
I am very fortunate to have the support of my family and friends and I feel strengthened and encouraged by their wisdom to continue to learn from life experiences, challenging as they may be.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the fans and fellow gamers who have sent me so many messages of support and comfort.
Out of respect for all of you, these are the only comments I will be posting regarding this situation.
