In support of others who have come out with stories about dmbrandon
Around 2013 or 2014, I needed a place to stay for 1 night after an event. Dmbrandon offered to let me crash with him and fats. I was going through something with my now ex, who wasn’t at the event, so I was very sensitive and vulnerable. In the room we decided DM and I could share a bed, platonically. I’ve shared a bed with people of the opposite gender before, and so this case wasn’t an issue for me. DM was being DM- being generally a dick and showing a lack of empathy- and I curled at the edge of the bed, facing the edge, and tried to quietly cry myself to sleep due to the shit I was dealing with. Eventually, he started getting cuddly and a little handsy. We started talking quietly —fats was in the room trying to sleep— about what was upsetting me, and he finally showed an ounce of empathy. He opened up to me about his personal life, which was a side of him I had never seen before, and that brought my guard down. Nothing more happened beyond him spooning me and getting a bit touchy feely.
After this all happened, he proceeded to tell people—including my now ex— that *I* got handsy with HIM. Which I did not. If anything he had the boner and continued to spoon me anyway. I kept my mouth shut about it all because I didn’t want unnecessary drama. He was engaged and my relationship was on and off. Luckily, after DM approached my now ex about it at the smite launch event, my ex asked me about it and believed me.
What was most problematic for me is he decided to tell people about it, presumably to get ahead of it, and lie about what happened. I did not get handsy with him, he got handsy with ME.
Brandon has shown manipulative and abusive behavior over the years. He stopped talking to me not long after the event I roomed with him at. He told people not to associate with me, and many listened to his claims.
I bring up my story only to support others who have come forward with similar stories, so they know they aren’t alone and they aren’t crazy about how he treated and manipulated them.
