Goodbye OWL

My time in professional Overwatch is done for now. I started as a 16 year old dumb ass kid who just wanted to be a pro gamer, and now I'm just a regular dumb ass kid who will be making content.

Seriously though, getting into OWL was a dream come true to me. I worked really hard in the T3-T2 days to make a name for myself as an upcoming NA talent, and I managed to get into the league when I was about to turn 18. The past couple years have been an absolute whirlwind for me, but it was actually the dream job. Travelling, playing in front of crowds, and meeting people that I looked up to were all amazing experiences that I'll never forget.

There was definitely a lot more I could have achieved competitively given more time, but I honestly have been so happy just to be able to entertain other people. The responses to the stuff I make, the messages from other people telling me I helped them in some way... That kind of stuff became my reason for giving it my all. When I thought about it like that suddenly I had an infinite amount of drive; there was absolutely nothing that could stop me. It also made me realize that I love the entertainment side of esports just as much as the competitive side.

I’ve been thinking about this kind of stuff for a while now, and as you guys know I wasn't supposed to play that last match against Vancouver. Justice asked me to do it as a favor and I took it as a chance to be able to give it my all one last time. It's a bit selfish when you think about it like that, but it helped me get a proper sense of closure with everything. I'm really glad I ended up doing it. ALSO I'M NOT A MEI ONE TRICK HAHAHA!

So what's next for me? I’m going to take what I’ve learned and continue to entertain you all. Expect a lot of streams and youtube content because I’ll be spamming them as much as possible. I know for myself that it’s easy to feel extremely down during these times while we’re all in quarantine, so I hope that I can make it a little bit more fun for you all while we're all shut in. I'm also going to be looking for editors and emote designers to make the content more fun for viewers. Hopefully you guys look forward to that!

I doubt that I'm done playing games competitively: Valorant has scratched a competitive itch for me that I haven't felt in a long time, and you’ll still see me streaming Overwatch for sure. Who knows what the future holds?

That being said I wanted to say thank you to everyone who supported me to get this far. Without the fans, OW devs, and league staff I would have never been able to make my dreams come true.

To the fans: You guys became my true meaning in this competitive journey. The encouragement and support you guys showed in cheering for me at homestands, the incredible fan art, and memes in the stream chat... It always made me so happy to put on a show for you all. To all of you guys in the Stratusphere, and to all of my followers in general: thank you all so much. You guys made this journey super fun for me, and I can't wait to grow a community with all of you!

Thank you all so much for supporting me.

Random messages to teammates:

Corey: Dude you were actually the perfect teammate to run into for me. We went through a lot of shit together, and you were my best friend throughout all of it. On top of that you are really professional and hardworking; which set a great example for me to learn off of. I'm gonna miss playing with you in scrims and matches so much, but I know wherever you'll end up that you're gonna pop off. I've always had so much respect for you as a player but I'm so happy that we could just meme around and have fun for the past year or so. Goodbye for now, Corey. I'm gonna miss your goofy dumb ass so much.

Ellivote: You're my roommate now. Good luck. Seriously though you are a nutty player, a super funny person, and you're gonna POP OFF if you keep this shit up. (Sorry that we don't have a pokestop in our apartment.)

Ark: Ark, buddy, we've also been through a shit ton together. Communicating with you in the middle of matches in scrims was always a perfect fit for me, and I always felt like I could bounce ideas off of you super easily. Thanks for being a good teacher and friend man, and I hope that you find a lot of happiness in the future! (Also I'll see you in ranked bud you aren't safe.)

Aimgod: My god dude you are actually one of the funniest people I've ever met. I'm sad that this season has been so rough for us, but I actually enjoyed playing with you so much. Don't ever stop being happy Aimgod. You are way too fun to be around. (Also don't ever stop eating your mic)

Wiz: You are a nutty coach, the feedback that you gave me was always super helpful. I only wish that I approached you more with my own questions since you were such a nice person. Thanks for everything man!

Supreme: You are like my second dad. Thanks dad! Seriously though you have a really good personality, and I'm super happy that I got to work with you Thanks for giving me so much encouragement. SUPREME FIGHTING.

Bani/John. Thank you guys so much for supporting me throughout this season. It was only a little bit of time but you guys were always really receptive to the stuff that I had to say. Thanks for being good friends and coaches to me!

PRE: Early on in Justice S1 you really help me become a better person. I will always be grateful for that and everything else you have done for me man; you've been the ultimate homie throughout this entire thing. Thank you so much for believing in me man.

Lynn: YOU ACTUALLY HELPED ME MAKE THIS TWITLONGER. You've always been super nice and hard working which is something that I admire so much. On top of that you've basically been the tank for all the stress for many players on the team. Honestly, I don't think I'd be able to list out all the things you helped me out with if I tried; but thank you so much for everything.

Goodbye boys. I'll never forget what I've learned from you all.

Also if you guys have any questions feel free to hop in and ask them, I'll be streaming a bunch from now on at: twitch.tv/stratuseclipse
