End of my player career - New role to learn !
I made the decision to stop playing professionally. It was not an easy decision of course but I took the time to think about it.
I have been playing at a very high level since 2008 and have always taken on a lot of responsibility in my teams and I have felt the pressure of it lately. I've had less and less energy to do the work that was necessary, specifically for individual training for which I had gradually less motivation.
Also I've had issues in my private life that I haven't handled so well and the G2 and GamerLegion projects cost me a lot of energy, without any real return, and my motivation took a big hit. Part of it is my fault obviously and I may have not made all the right choices. No happy end then, but it's not a big deal. So it's time to turn this wonderful page that being a professional player was.
The great thing about high-level competition is that you get to know yourself and you get to know others as they really are.
It allowed me to meet fabulous people who are dear to me today even if we are no longer working together.
I keep priceless memories and I have experienced things in and outside of the game that I never thought I would live.
On top of that I was able to discover a lot of countries!
I also had the chance to play with incredibly talented players who had the same obsession, the wish to do everything in the world to win. For a while the efforts paid off but nothing can be eternal. Thanks guys for that, it was fabulous! For all this, I feel thankfull. (I didn't want to use that word everyone is using nowadays but it is what I feel).
I do not forget the community and I salute those who have followed me since the start, or later, and I deeply thank them.
I am proud of what I have done and the values that I have carried in my career.
Now is the time to change direction and role. I may no longer have the motivation to practice 10 hours per day individually in addition to the strategic work but I still love the game, the teamplay, the tactic, the job well done, the desire to get the best out of my players as a group and as individuals. I want to transmit these values and immerse myself more in the analysis, observation and the management of a group.
For these reasons I want to become a coach. I've known for a long time that it would be the next logical step for me because my vision was more and more global and not enough focused on myself.
I can't wait to find my project in which I will have time to work on my new role !
