The Stevenson Experience: Takes One to Know One #edfringe review
The Stevenson’s; a twin duo all the way from Australia. It’s musical comedy but with plenty more. The lads interact well with each other and with the audience. It’s well-written and expertly performed. The gag count is high and they manage to deliver time after time.
However, this show is missing those uncontrollable big laughs; the kind that would help unite an audience, making it a far better shared experience.
The show has recalls aplenty but the main plot twist feels a little lame. The guys show their skills in gag writing and in their performance, I just wish they had spent more time on the plot. Sure, it’s a good idea, it’s just not convincing and it feels like an added extra. If it had been performed with more enthusiasm then I have no doubt that we would be looking at an even better show.
It was a highly enjoyable hour and one that I could safely say I’m happy to recommend.
