Goodbye Rocket League
No, this isn't a joke.
I'll try to keep it short but:
TL;DR: I'm quitting Rocket League, meaning that our RLRS is automatically forfeited.
There's a lot to say, but first of all I want to apologize to Jacob for deciding to quit right before the season. I'd love to play RLRS with him and for a long time I was excited about how we were going to do, but unfortunately, sometimes things don't work out :( Jacob and I ended on good terms, and I wish him best of luck to wherever he goes next.
Now: Why did I quit? Unfortunately, I won't go into detail why, but it has nothing to do with my parents (who have made me stop for months at a time in the past), and it wasn't because of team or motivation issues either.
In fact, I'd still love it more than anything to be able to grind my way back into the RLCS and reach the places I know I can. Sometimes, though, you just have to move on, and I made the hard choice to do just that.
I'm really thankful for every one of the 5,000 hours I've spent playing this game and all the positive and negative experiences that came with it. I may have not achieved as much as I would have liked, but this game has truly become a part of me and will always hold a special place in my mind. Every single person I've met made my journey what it was, and I'm thankful for all of you.
And finally, even though I'm not big on shoutouts:
Satthew: My oldest Rocket League friend still around today, I'm so glad you finally got to RLCS. Go tear it up :)
Ayyjayy: My first real teammate, I'll never forget how much you helped me through everything. <3
So yea, this is it. There's a ridiculously small chance I get to keep playing but the odds of it happening are so small I didn't even include it in my TL:DR, and even if it does happen you'll never see me in RLRS/RLCS again.
Finally, if anyone has anything they want to tell me, I'd recommend telling me now because I'm going to get off social media in a few days.
Bye everyone, I really hope you guys continue to make Rocket League the Esport we all know it can be. Hopefully, I'll see you all around some time.
