Here's a telling story:

Two former LEOs (now working as private detectives for a law firm that represents 120 police unions in California) got caught putting an illegal GPS tracking device on a politician's car and attempting to frame him for a DUI.

Important facts:

1) Politician spoke out about budgetary concerns in the Costa Mesa Police Department.

2) PIs hired by an Upland law firm that represents 120 police unions in California.

3) PIs place GPS tracker on politician's car.

4) Politician meets a man for business at a bar.

5) Police show up at politician's house after he gets home from the bar, acting on an "anonymous tip" that he was driving while under the influence.

6) They arrest him.

7) He is determined to have no alcohol in his system whatsoever, and he's released, but not until after he is smeared for being arrested for DUI.

This is why public-employee unions are mostly a bad idea. They routinely undermine the trust and function of a government that is intended to be for and by THE PEOPLE.
