CS:GO AWP Doodle Lore / Duality - Steam refund
I bought my AWP Doodle Lore from the Steam Community Market on the 12th of February.
On the 15th of February Steam/CS:GO released a Blog-Post stating that:
1: „The AWP | Doodle Lore has been replaced by the AWP | Duality in the Revolution Case“
2: „Existing AWP | Doodle Lore inventory items have been converted to the AWP | Duality“
Since i was unhappy with this decision by Steam/CSGO and felt kinda screwed over, i decided to open my first Support-Ticket regarding to this topic, stating:
- That my only intend with my purchase was to own the explicit skin of the AWP Doodle Lore
- That im unhappy with Steam/CS:GO‘s decision to force a skin on me that i didn’t bought or intended to own
- And asked for a refund
One day later i received the following response via the Support-Ticket:

…for legal reasons, all instances of the the AWP | Doodle Lore in the recently released Revolution Case have been replaced with the AWP | Duality
“

…all Community Market transactions are final and cannot be reversed or refunded.

Reversing these purchases would mean we have to take funds out of the seller's wallet, creating confusion and possible purchasing issues across Steam.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.
We do not have additional information to share at this time regarding the removed item. As a result, I am closing this help request. If you have an unrelated issue please open a new help request.

After receiving this answer i talked to a friend of mine who also bought a Doodle Lore before the change, he received basically the same copy&paste text after asking for a refund.
We both were still not agreeing with Steam/CS:GO so i decided to open another Ticket stating that:
- I do not agree or accept the previous answer
- That i understand that the skin had to be removed, but that its also not my fault
- That minor changes or a redesign by the original artist could have been acceptable but not a total swap
- That I’ve read their linked Community Market article & Steam User Agreement and both do not contain a section/description where a change of Weapon-Skins like this is legally justified by EU Law without the option of a refund (by my knowledge, im not a lawyer tho)
- And finally, that i request a refund or the reset of the skin to its original state as a Doodle Lore for the named reasons above.
6 Days later i received the answer that a refund would be possible (Screenshot that @TR3x3r posted on Twitter).
