I was spoken about on the WAN Show today.

2022: People talk about what I said without reading it.
2023: People talk about what I said without listening to it.

When Linus Tech Tips announced they were making a reaction channel on last weeks WAN Show I received endless messages asking for my opinion. I coincidentally already had some more I wanted to say on the general topic of reaction content due to having collected stories and jotted down more thoughts over these many months. I therefore decided I could use the event to give an abridgment of those notes and give my passing thoughts on what they planned to create. After completing the video, I almost didn't release it in part because I felt the video spoke far too generally about the topic of reaction content and only really referenced what Linus was actually planning to do at the end of the video. I was further surprisingly positive in regards to Linus, at least as much as I could conceivably be which I felt could confuse some due to my intentional brevity. Despite my misgivings, I was however urged to released it by early watchers, so I did.

The released video ended up being the first and main topic of the most receant WAN Show. More accurately, Linus and Luke both didn't watch my video and yet made the contents of the video the first and main topic of the episode. In place of knowledge of my words, a writer for the Linus Tech Tips channel watched the video for them and summarized it. This summary possessed such a degree of inaccuracy that I question whether this individual just doesn't like me personally. To accompany this, Linus claimed to previously have read the comment section of my video. His justification for apparently spending more time reading comments than would be required to watch the video was "you can get a deeper understanding of what was discussed and the greater context of a video by just reading the comments". I am used to peopling claiming I said things yet not wanting to spend the time to actually learn what I said, but this is a new low for me. I am so careful with my words, must I forever be tortured by the resulting misunderstandings that spawn from someone speaking for me via proxy? I have spent the last 10 months tortured by the result of Charlie's grossly wrong representations of my words, is this just a reality that I can not escape?

My video was 20 minutes, 10 at 2x speed. I am sure if you watch the contents of my video, you could likely understand why I found it fairly confusing for it to be discussed on the WAN Show at all. Given the foundation for the discussion that took place, I lack sufficient vocabulary to communicate my level of bewilderment. I believe it should be standard practice that if you are not prepared to discuss something, you probably just shouldn't do it. Commentary videos of any sort ideally shouldn't be created due to a feeling of obligation, but due to sincere interest and having actual things of substance to communicate. "I have not seen it, but here are my thoughts on it" is not a sentiment anyone should ever be so unabashed to communicate. I did not make the video with a response in mind and wouldn't have been much put out had it gotten little attention at all given its poor production quality.

I am just very tired. Mentally, physically, emotionally. Not specifically because of this, but in general.
