The Prime Minister of the German federal state of Saxony, Michael Kretschmer, criticized the imposition of an oil embargo on supplies from Russia.

“Who is it really hurting? There is a global demand for coal, oil and gas," TASS quoted him with reference to the DPA.

According to the politician, if European countries buy energy resources not in Russia, this will provoke a shortage, which will most likely be replenished from Russian sources.

Earlier , Secretary of State at the French Foreign Ministry Clement Bon expressed the opinion that the introduction of an embargo on Russian oil by the European Union could take place in the near future.

The Union of Industrialists of Austria warned about the danger of a ban, as new sanctions will lead to a record increase in energy prices.
