Role Change
I am retiring as a player within R6 and I will be moving to the strategic coach role within cowana Gaming.
It’s no secret I was largely under performing the entire year. Although I’m playing support and focusing on shotcalling/IGL work it’s no excuse. The current meta is frag heavy and there isn’t space for players that struggle to get frags, unless they can bring significantly more in other areas, with the rest of the team bringing those frags.
During split 3 I brought up to Officer that after the split the team needs to have a discussion about whether or not I should continue with the team for the following year. The outcome was to drop me from the team, which I respected and understood completely.
The decision was also made to drop Rideoo, which meant cowana was looking for a new strat coach. I was given the opportunity to trial as the strat coach, which I accepted. Since November I had been trialling as the strategic coach and was eventually given the position. Since we didn’t qualify for SI, my final game was the SI CQ final. I will now be focusing full time on the strategic coach role, which I think is the position I can be most useful in.
I’d like to thank everyone that supported me throughout my time as a player. Although I didn’t reach all my goals as a player, I did manage to reach EUL (pro league) which was my goal when I first bought a PC. Hopefully as a coach I will be able to fulfil the rest of my goals with the team.
