2021

What to say about this wonderful year? It's still surreal to believe in. It feels like I am dreaming and that I am still the same law student who has loved Esports since 2015.

In 2015, I was introduced to League of Legends by my friends while I was playing Trove alone at the internet cafe. For a long time, I resisted it because I thought I would get addicted, but this time, I was like, Sure, let's do it. I will install it and troll them in-game for a bit, and that's it, but oh boy, was I wrong. I got addicted to the game and was addicted for the next two years, often playing 12 hours a day. A few days after I started, my friend told me, "You know there are people who earn a lot of money from playing this game?" and I was "Nah man, no way... Tell me which teams are good, so I can support and watch them, to get better". He responded with, "SKT T1 and Fnatic, and that Fnatic had that good player called Rekkles."... And that is how I became Fnatic fan and Rekkles fanboy, you know and like, the birth of esports Fosty.

For years after that, I was grinding League of Legends, trying to make it as a content creator, get work in an industry that I loved, but with 0 success, I gave up on it in late 2019. 2020 was me focusing on my studies, securing government funding for the next year, and then it happened; I went to Turkey for my late summer vacation to swim, relax and chill out for next year of studies. When I decided it was time to form Church of Fnatic Perkz and spam his smug face in Fnatic Jersey 24/7. And to my surprise, it worked; people started noticing it.

My account went from 100 to 700 followers in October, and I was known as that fierce Fnatic fanboy and a few others, including Fnatic NB, we used to be best friends back then. Sadly, It isn't like it nowadays because we have different views on esports as a whole, but more about it later.

I continued being Fnatic hype man during the Worlds/off-season, and then it struck me the long-awaited transfer no one expected, Rekkles to G2. This is probably the most iconic moment in League of Legends Esports when one of the goats decided to switch from the team he was a symbol of to G2. That and other decisions made by Fnatic management (Caps, other things I heard) made me decide that it was time to go, and it turns it was the best decision of my life. I made the list of why and decided I won't be Fnatic Fosty anymore but a G2 Fosty.

To my surprise, Ocelote himself, the G2 owner, responded and welcomed me personally to the team, as I was "Officially" joining G2. That was one of the best feelings ever. My account skyrocketed from 700 to 2500 followers overnight thanks to him and to the many surprised people that saw me as this biggest Fnatic fanboy that would never switch to G2. Even Ashley Kang remarked here about it https://twitter.com/AshleyKang/status/1329878155344048128.

Fast forward to February 2020, I had Astralis social media manager interviews, where the curse of getting second place at the interview was born. Sadly, I did not make it, but I finally got my first social media job to do socials for NA streamer RenektonTopOnly (RTO). It was a low amount of cash, but it was enough to prove to my parents that I am not an addicted psycho that sat on PC all day and got rid of them constantly telling me that they would send me to an addictions hospital. Yeah, Balkan parents, I guess. But it also was extra motivation for me; I mean, when you get 200 euros to post memes a month from the comfort of your home, especially in Serbia, it means a lot.

To my surprise, in March 2020, Thomas Tisch (at the time content at Dot Esports) reached out via DM to me and told me there's an opening for social media at Dot Esports and asked me would I be interested in joining, and if yes he would set up an interview with Michael Vickroy (Head of Social media for Dot Esports) and of course, I said yes. I had the discussion; it went well. A few days after, he contacted me and offered me a certain about of money. I would feel free to discuss the amounts, but I think someone might contact me from these people and ask me to delete them so I won't talk about the salaries, but it was perfect for someone who just started out earning a month ago. And of course, I said yes and started working there.

It was another boom of my account and another supportive post by Carlos, my father of Esports, as I call him for the things he does to the people that support his team.

The full quote of that tweet.

"This is what happens when you follow and interact with me and G2.

we play off of each other and have fun in the process

this guy now has a career in front of him

im so happy when I see shit like this

keep hustling, man"

That was another crazy good moment of my life. It is just starting, haha.

After this, I had internship talks with C9, where I made it to the last interview but didn't make it again. Haha, yeah, the trend continued there. That is by far the biggest L of my career and saddest one because I thought, and I still think I would vibe with the guys there, especially Porti and Linku, Arya and Janoot left, so that's why I do not include them here.

Fast forward a bit more; I got an offer from Axel Springer to work on their particular news project called Jaxon. I worked there for like two months when I got pressed by Christian Slot, their director of the project, to quit Dot Esports and the rest of the jobs I had, I guess that's the company's policy, but I was not able to.

The biggest reason why I quit Jaxon was because I finally got the offer to work in an or; afterr this many months and it was one of the most legendary CS orgs Ninajs in Pyjamas, it was insane to me that I would be working for the team that Dev1ce is part of and one of the most respected CS orgs out there, it was fun there, and I was enjoying my time, I think I completely revamped their social media game which got them known for banter and being in twitch, having fun and all but it seems like they needed more formal socials and all at the end of the day because fast forward to 25th of October I was in talks with Vincent Lutz, my good friend aHeadead of social media there about my visit to the NIP office in November when I was told that their COO Jonas has some feedback for me, and I was happy to hear it (I did request feedback before this) but instead of the feedback I got "I am sorry Fosty, you are a good guy and your ,memes are good but it isn't for us so we will have to terminate your contract with us". I honestly believe this was just an excuse because I did overperform and did all the things myself because I was the only one left there wiHeadead of social media. We worked well together and had an insane amount of likes and impressions. Still, I don't know, man it is so sad but whatever, let's move on.

It broke me honestly; it was so stressful and sad; this part was a bit unprofessional by me, but I instantly announced that I got fired/terminated on Twitter even if some time had to pass before doing it, but I just had to do it. I wouldn't like to work and act like everything is normal in the company I got fired from. Yes, it is unprofessional, but it is what it is; I believe I didn't deserve to get fired.

Anyway, offers started coming through, and the whole esports community surprised reactions. The support was crazy, and I was blown away by so many people were talking about me.

I got the offers from ESL and some other marketing orgs, lower-tier esports orgs, but I refused/kept them on hold for a bit. It turns it was a great choice, the best because soon after, Tim Reichert, Excel's new Esports Director, contacted me and wanted to talk about my possible work at XL, and I took it. At the time, I was at the hospital, expecting my jaw surgery on the 2nd of November, so I did not expect much, but I was blown away when I was offered the insanely good contract and the best I received yet in like two days. I accepted, and here we are. I work for the LEC org, and I will cover the LEC and be one of the accounts tweeting about it and being directly in talks with players in XL and the staff. How crazy is it to do it all in a year?

I would talk more, but this tweet is already 8000 characters long, and I don't expect anyone to read more or half of it anyway. Still, I would like to thank my beautiful followers because of who I am here, and I work what I love. I can finance my family and the house from it. I want to thank esports personalities and organizations for interacting with the stuff I do, especially Carlos, one of the best people in the scene and one of the big reasons I made it.

Thank you for the fantastic 2021, I have no words to describe it, and this all feels like a never-ending dream.

October 2020 - Fnatic fan, 100 followers

December 2021 - Esports Social Media for Excel and ex Social Media Manager for Ninjas in Pyjamas, 20000 followers and insane community of people that I love and they love me.

December 2022 -?

LOVE YOU ALL. THANK YOU!

Lastly, if some sentences don't make sense, I used Grammarly to fix sentences and stuff, so I don't even know how this thing works. But you should get the point.
