Regarding the Overwatch creator meeting..

It's infuriating watching the community turn their back on creators/professionals who have consistently produced content for a game that neglected them as well. Our frustrations with the developers directly reflect our communities. Our concerns with the game have always included YOUR input. The fact we now have this direct line of communication, even if only few people, is putting us on the right path. THEY ARE LISTENING TO US, finally. Please understand that you're only further proving you don't deserve to hear any roadmaps, if you're preaching about concrete evidence of their efforts. We, the creators, got nothing concrete - but sufficient enough to explain all this hype. We don't have a game to play. This community has always been this way - constantly in search of a target to shoot at.

For the creators who were NOT invited - Don't pretend like we all had this since the start. For years I was alienated on console, never given an inch of respect despite how hard I worked for it. ONLY RECENTLY WAS I BLESSED TO BE IN THIS SITUATION, and I mean 2 months. You need to work smarter. Just streaming Overwatch isn't enough. Viewership doesn't matter. Reputation, trust and connections are the only criteria game developers look for. If you were smart, you wouldn't be mass tweeting about how you weren't included - the answer is right in front of you. It's been back-to-back months (November/December) the community team has hosted Creator Meetings.. Which means.. They are going to do more. Find your footing and keep grinding - the negativity is only setting you back. I was in your shoes, I understand the frustration. Change gears.

For the community who is disappointed - You are NOT who this was targeted for. Our tweets were NOT announcements. We have nothing to show you. The game developers have nothing to show you. I wish I was paid, I need the money. We, the streamers, were not going to SHUT DOWN the opportunity handed to us. What point would that prove? No matter what - some people simply want to hate and find disappointment in anything. Do your best to ignore them and trust the streamers you've consistently enjoyed watching. Why would we sugarcoat a game that's been delayed countless times? That our livelihoods depend on? There's nothing fake or scripted about our reactions, within minutes of ending that call we opened the floodgates to voice our excitement so OUR COMMUNITIES can be excited too. The support we received from the majority was out of this world - and I'm glad we could give you a little hope. You'll be in the loop soon enough.

Again, this was not a paid ad. No streamer is leaking any news because it's against our Non-Disclosure Agreements ("a legally binding contract that establishes a confidential relationship"). Despite our hype, that doesn't mean we are overly comfortable. All of us have been through this rodeo before. We also want something concrete to showcase. Be pessimistic, be doubtful - but don't spread rumors and hatred towards the streamers who support this community more than anyone else.

I'd like to end this TwitLonger by thanking the developers on being more vocal, more transparent. This meeting system is a work in progress, it'll never be perfect. The community leadership team has been drastically improving and we should acknowledge that. Please be nicer to everyone involved.
