Retiring

Today I made the tough decision to retire from SMITE. This has been a few years in the making, I first considered retiring after SPL moved to a LAN format after season 5 but I stayed because I loved playing the game and competing even if it was only in SCC or stints in the SPL during breaks from school. After season 5 was the first time since becoming a pro that SMITE was not my number one priority in life and ever since then my dedication for the game dwindled. I’ve now reached a point where I want to fully commit myself to other things and move on to the next stage in my life.

I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity live out my dreams of being a pro gamer. I’ve played this game for about a third of my life now and I can honestly say it has been the best thing to ever happen to me. I remember in high school I was just a shy, anxious nerd who just wanted to go home and play video games. I still am to a certain extent, but SPL has allowed me to grow as a person, visit places I would have never been, and meet some incredible people. The opportunity to fly around the world and compete in front of fans were easily some of the best times in my life and I’ll cherish the memories forever.

Thank you to Hi-rez, the pros, the fans, and anyone else who has supported me over the years, it really means a lot =).
