Get Ready For Beach Season With These Fitness Tips

Be at least eighteen inches facing away from the wall. Start leaning back and bending your knees until your back completely fits on the wall. Bend your knees, and continue to lower yourself until you are almost sitting, with thighs parallel with the ground. You should hold this position until you cannot stand it any longer.

If you perform repetitive movements, try counting backwards from your desired total. You'll always have a clear idea of how much longer you have to exercise, and it can be a lot more motivating to count down towards your goal instead of up.

If the idea of regularly working out at a gym or health club leaves you with cold feet, look for recreational activities that are both, energizing and exciting. Rock climbing is becoming increasingly popular in gyms and fitness centers and offers an excellent workout for the muscles in your arms, legs and back.

If you enjoy watching television, try adding a little workout to your TV watching. Watching TV while working out may help you forget that you are working out, which will increase the length of your workout. Try using television shows as a timer. If you know that a show runs for half an hour, tell yourself that you will work out for two shows.

Flex your arms when doing arm curls for maximum benefits. Start by doing a standard arm curl, but make sure your arm is completely straight. Do this by flexing your triceps at the end of your repetitions. This helps work out your arm muscles by using their entire ranges of motion.

Avoid using the treadmill to warm-up with before you engage in your weight training. Instead, opt for a warm-up that will actually work the muscles that you will be using for lifting the weights. To do a full body warm-up that accomplishes this, use a bar and perform two sets of 10 reps of squats, bench-presses, dead-lifts, etc.

A great way to stay fit is to ride the bicycle. The one at the gym works too, and while riding it, you should stay between 80 and 110 revolutions per minute. You will actually ride for a longer distance and you will go faster without becoming tired.

Take the stairs. If you use the steps instead of the elevator or escalator whenever you have the choice, you get a mini-workout. You burn 10 times as many calories when you climb the stairs as you do by just standing. Planning to take the stairs when you can means committing to a fit lifestyle.

When going to the gym or working out, you should have the mentality to get bigger and increase the amount of sets and repetitions than the previous day. This will lead to you being stronger and you will also have much more endurance than when you had first started.
