I was not offered a casting position in the Overwatch League for 2021.
I want to dispel any rumors that I “quit” the Overwatch League. My goal for this year after living as a nomad in 2019 and 2020 was to live in Korea and return to freelance work. When discussing working on LCK, Riot Korea gave me full permission to commentate OWL, since even as an LCK commentator, I’m still a freelancer. They had no problems with me working on both throughout the year.
I shared my schedule with the league and with at least the first half of the season not conflicting with any LCK broadcasts, I hoped that I could work on a significant portion of the league with Achilios, and I would still love to potentially guest appear.
I still plan on following the Overwatch League, sharing my thoughts and analysis, and I wish all the players and talent the best! Overwatch esports has been a huge part of my life since 2016; I’m not just going to disappear.
I hope OWL can have a strong year and big push before Overwatch 2 comes out. This game and its community are great and have given me some of my best esports memories. I hope one we can make some more together again someday.
