This is just the beginning

Dear Partners and Friends,

After 3 exciting years, I have taken the difficult decision to leave Riot to join another venture in esports. From the launch of the LEC to the debut of VAL esports in Europe, I want to thank all of you for this amazing journey.

First I want to thank Bertrand Amar and Matt Wolf who introduced me to the world of gaming and esports. Thanks for converting me into the gamer I have become.

I can’t look back without celebrating all the partnerships and now friendships that we have been building with marketeers, organizers and creators. Thank you all for believing in our vision and for making the fans experience better by bringing the champagne to the party.

We had so many highs that I will just mention some of them
> Hosting our first LEC fans plaza in Rotterdam with all teams / partners
> Fans singing for the LEC to be back with Kia
> A mixed team of talented players on the LEC stage thanks to Women In Games
> Louis Vuitton presenting the Summoner’s Cup 10 years after the FIFA World Cup trophy
> Hosting a press conference at the Eiffel Tower
> KitKat making Diego’s breaks more fun
> Warner Music making the LEC crew dance on Diplo
> And the LEC going global with 14 languages for the 2021 Spring final

Our crazy ideas would have never been possible without the talents and the efforts from the amazing Rioters behind the games, the shows, the events or the content created for our players. Thanks for trusting us and letting our partners join the party.

Thank you to my managers John Needham, Alex Kraynov, Alberto Guerrero and Hannes Seifert for supporting me and my team when exploring such untapped territories. Also to Hasan Colakoglu and Nicolo Laurent for your leadership and inspiration

Finally, I want to say thank you to the BD team at Riot Games and Sport5.
No words will make justice to the passion you have put in building a legacy we will be proud of in 10 years time when we will meet at one of those giant esport events. But it all started in a small meeting room in Adlershof with Thomas and Moritz and I'm humbled to see the talents (Romain, Nicolas, Michelle, Zeynep, Christian) who joined our adventure since then and how much progress we have made to promote esports and the Riot Games across Europe.
From looking up to Bochum to now competing with the Champion’s League, I can’t wait to see how far our little project will keep growing.

Today is my last day at Riot Games (for now)
But this is just the beginning in esports for me
Looking forward to share more about my next role in a few weeks

A+
