Re-Addressing Calalini

It's been a pretty long time since I've talked about Calalini so I would like to explain what happened from start to finish. This happened when I was 15/16 years old, so about 10 years ago.

After learning about Jani on the internet, I decided to write a song about Jani in hopes of raising awareness. Her parents reached out to me, told me the song was kind of dramatic but appreciated what I was doing. They wanted to put it up as a free download on their website, as well as asking me to design a shirt to raise money for the Jani Foundation. I was asked to draw 24 Hours because Jani liked how I interpreted her.

Shortly after that wrapped up I didn't really keep in contact with them, but I was facebook friends with Michael Schofield. A woman Michael was siphoning money out of via an affair tried to get me involved, by venting about inappropriate conversation topics and trying to coerce me to talk to Michael. Between her pressure to talk to Michael, I realized I was not in a good situation and blocked all parties involved. I did not want to get involved with the Schofields again. I was involved for only a few months, and then it was over. I did not make or expect to make any money off of the project.

My explanation as to why I rewrote Calalini and my apology for it:

I don't hold the rights to Concientia as an album, and have no control over the streaming releases. I don't talk about Concientia because it's a sore spot. It's embarrassing- I walked right into predatory business practices and was taken advantage of. I've discussed disputing it and explored my legal options, but decided to cut my losses for the sake of moving on. I'll make a remaster at some point and release it on my own terms. Concientia has been up for free as a download on my website without Calalini included since my apology.
