Competitive ruling and joint statement: @demisegg Academy player "Sultan"

Earlier today, screenshots of Demise Academy player “Sultan” were posted to Twitter showing toxic behaviour in a ranked match. This kind of behaviour is not acceptable for a player competing in the UKEL, especially considering the players use of a slur towards the LGBTQ+ community.

The UKEL will therefore be banning the player for the remainder of the spring split, with a review taking place prior to the summer split as to whether to allow the player to compete again.
Demise have also acted promptly. Before we notified them of the ban, they had already taken the necessary steps to remove the player from their roster in the UKEL. Demise Academy manager Kaya had the following to say:

“After receiving information about a player’s behaviour, we acted quickly to remove the player from our team. His behaviour does not represent the core values of the organisation and we have a zero-tolerance policy on toxicity. I have spoken with the people involved to clear up any remaining issues and would like to thank them for bringing this to our attention.”

Neither the UKEL nor Demise will tolerate any toxic behaviour, whether on social media, in an official match or in a ranked match.

We would like to thank Demise for their co-operation in resolving this issue quickly and decisively.
