About not having @williedills on episode 400
Hi TAC listeners,
Some of you have asked why we didn’t mention Dills on episode 400. It was less of a conscious decision to leave him out as it was wanting to focus on the two of us and the work we had done together because as we said at the end of the episode, it's been a rough year. We kept the show going, felt proud of what we have accomplished, and felt it was worth celebrating with the people who have supported us as we try different formats and segments. We also chose to do the episode in a round table format, letting the conversation go wherever. At no time did we tell our guests not to mention Dills.
We have not aired our grievances in the past, and do not intend to now. We have both felt attacked and hurt by Dills at various times, which we hope to work through eventually. But we did not set out to hurt Dills by excluding him from the clips segment of the 400th episode. We were simply trying to find fun moments with the two of us. Dills has since told us that this exclusion hurt. To Dills, we are sorry. Despite our complicated relationship we did not mean to hurt you.
The two of us have talked about having Dills back to guest a couple of times since he left, but even after 80 episodes a lot of the issues still feel too raw and unresolved. On the day of recording, we broached the subject again, wishing we were on better terms so we could have invited him back for episode 400. In the end this was the best thing for us, and we hope you can understand that. We mean Dills no ill will, but do not intend to extend an invitation to return as a guest at this time.
