We're doing this once.

Hey everyone, oh boi big big drama today, and the accused is none other than your boy himself! For those out of the loop I'm just addressing something really quickly.

I woke up to dozens of DMs telling me about people starting a witch hunt because I apparently traced some of CSR's artworks.
I'm not too active outside of posting so I generally don't read much into conspiracy theories people have about me, but I'm not too happy being twitter's punching bag either.

Now if I was smart I would probably ignore the vocal minority and let it fade over time, but I'm slightly petty so I want to make things clear : I don't trace.

I don't trace because it is, on top of being pretty shitty, also very boring. Sketching happens to be the part I have the most fun on when starting a new artwork,
you have one layer and a very simple creative process which limits the headache that some of the more complex pieces may bring.

Now what really irritated me about all that is the "proof" people submitted to present lies as facts. Like you know, putting two artworks on top of each other and if a shoulder overlaps calling it traced.
Again, we're on the internet, and twitter is not widely known to be an intellectual's lair, so me saying I don't do it will not make people stop believing in it.

Still, tracing is a big accusation and hard to prove, let's see how good of a method overlaying two artworks is to detect tracing.
Here is one of the "most blatant examples of tracing" according to twitter's experts :

Oof, looks bad right? Well... not really, when you actually look where the two artworks line up... it's not so convincing :

Now I could have changed up the pose, I mean there are multiple tools to manipulate images, it's certainly doable. Or wait for it... I actually drew it myself, shocking I know.
I'm far from the best artist and I know it more than anyone else, but when you start to (kinda) know how to draw the human body it's much faster to do it from scratch rather than trace and spend 2 hours trying to hide it, and yet people would rather believe the latter.

If you're one of the gullible people you're probably still not convinced, so let's play a game : I will now prove that CSR is also tracing, prepare yourselves! /s

Let's do the same bigbrain thing and overlap two artworks like so:

Oof, looks bad right? CSR must be canceled immediately, call up all stations we got him! Well... not really, because I'm pretty sure CSR didn't trace this.
But it's a funny game right? Here's another example :

Shocking, how could he do that...
People also think I trace paizuri poses apparently (you know, the pose that pretty much always looks similar because there's not 30 ways to draw it?), look CSR does too! He just changes up the head and shamelessly copies line for line /s :

Shame-less-ness! Here's another one, not everything lines up perfectly but he must have tweaked it to not get caught! /s

This isn't limited to CSR by the way, here's a quick example from IBUO which is another really talented artist I love :

Surely he traced this and just changed the head right? Probably not.
Obviously I don't think either of these artists are tracing, which is the normal reaction to have.

Anyways I'm done, I just took 15mn to grab a few artworks from artists I like to make those comparisons and it's surprinsing how quickly you find similar artworks when you're looking for it.

My point with all this in case you don't get it, is that overlaying two pictures is very misleading and in no way reliable to prove anything,
the human body can only move in so many ways, and there's only so many compositions that look attractive to the eye, so of course you're going to find similar poses in pinups, that's why Instagram is full of the same girls doing the same ass shots, they do what works.
People will find 2-3 examples of things that look fishy and will conveniently ignore 99% of my other works they cannot accuse.

While I'm at it, let me clarify another thing since i'm not going to dwell too long on this case. Some people are saying I did commissions for people and traced them, which is also a funny thing to say.
First of all, I did one and only one commission since I started posting, for a streamer who asked ELEVEN people in the same image for an offline screen.
Now if you have any drawing or painting knowledge you know god damn well I didn't trace eleven characters and still somehow made the composition work.
No worries on that side though, I already made it clear to him the art I made was in no way stolen.

Lastly (because the amount of petty stuff people will do on the internet to bury you doesn't end), people have on multiple occasions for the longest time claimed I was blocking people for mentionning CSR, as if I was that salty, even
going as far as lying and saying they were blocked. I will make that clear as well, I have up until now blocked 0 people :

This really goes to show you how far degenerates will go to undermine your work, so I might end up inaugurating that blocklist people are so fond of.

Anyways there you have it, put the tinfoil hat down Jimmy, it kinda hurt seeing so many people believe the whole thing in a blink of an eye and turning their vest so quickly, but hey it's the internet I should be used to it by now.

You have all the freedom in the world to dislike my art, don't make up lies to push your little agenda against me.
Don't expect another grand statement, I'm not going to waste my time waging war with low IQs on twitter on their newest crusade, you're big enough to decide on your own what principles you should stick with.

Thanks for reading and thanks to all the people not diving in the negativity head first!
