Some thoughts on Canucks free agents

Sure has been an interesting week in Vancouver.

The Canucks are talking with UFA's Jacob Markstrom, Tyler Toffoli and Chris Tanev and therer is also the Brock Boeser - Matt Dumba trade rumours.

I still think the Canucks number 1 target is to re-sign Markstrom.

The 2 sides continue to talk and work away at it but it is hard to get a gauge on which way the talks are going.

Will the Canucks go long on term, will Markstrom get his no move protection, Thatcher Demko's future, Seattle expansion draft, so many things at play.

If Markstrom walks, he will have offers, the market for him will be strong.

If Markstrom walks, the Canucks will have no shortage of goalies that want to replace him.

You will see lots UFA goalies have Vancouver on there list of destinations.

Certainly hearing positive vibes when it comes to signing Toffoli.

Most think this will get done but a source said this morning that a signing is premature but of the 3 UFA's, Toffoli is showing the most promise.

Very quiet on Tanev.

Is he tied to whether Markstrom or Tofolli re-sign.

Tanev is another player, if he does not sign with Vancouver, the market for him will be strong for him.

A Canucks source told me this morning that he can not believe how crazy the rumours about Boeser got in the last 24 hours.

Most Sources feel the Wild would do Boeser for Dumba and why would they not but another source says as of yesterday Boeser's name has not been brought up in any talks regarding Dumba.
