Overwatch 2 Updates and Clarification

Alright, so this will be a bit longer. Since I see alot of people speculating and even misinterpreting all the leaks, here is whats up.

Overwatch 2 is a new game, and when I say new game I mean new PvE and PvP content with a new engine. The current engine in Overwatch 1 does not support upscale PvE battles. However I do not think Blizzard wants to split the community with having 2 different games.

Earlier this week, I talked about the 2 possible scenarios of how OW 2 can play out: https://twitter.com/Metro_OW/status/1187422842700423172

One of them was having Overwatch 1 alongside Overwatch 2 with Overwatch 1 having all the competitive PvP stuff and Overwatch 2 being mostly PvE. Again, I don't think this is likely and I don't see Blizzard adding new heroes for PvE only. They wanna have one playerbase.

With ESPN confirming what I said today and adding a few more bits of information, I think the second scenario is very likely. Slasher already corrected himself with Echo for Overwatch not being at Blizzcon. A move of everyone over to OW 2 is more likely. This means, a complete engine and content update and the rebranding of the game to Overwatch 2. I could best compare this to Fortnite Chapter 2 even though I don't like it. :) Overwatch as we know it will be scrapped. You can also call this a huge update to Overwatch. This is partially speculation but the info I gave out over the last few days is true.

-OW 2 will be PvE and PvP
-OW 2 will have a leveling system
-Currently, there are no plans to be able to transfer items or progress from OW 1 to OW 2
-New PvP Gamemode "Push"
-It's not an expansion, if everything PvP moves over, it's a complete engine and gameplay update
