Checking-In At The Halfway Point

Time to check-in!

For those not in the know - I started my 30 day challenge on the 1st of July with 8 goals in mind, and created a public google doc to help keep myself accountable. I gave myself 3 misses in each category before I saw it as a 'failure', and gave myself rewards for the amount of goals I passed.

So how is it so far?

So far, I'm achieving my goals for the month, and I feel better about myself. It doesn't mean I'm waking up with a smile on my face every day, but it does mean I have some sense of pride, even on my bad days.

Unsurprisingly, the calorie limit has been the hardest. There were cheat days I saw coming, but every day is a struggle to keep to the limit. However, this month I've been much more consistent with excercising. That seems to be counteracting any mistakes on the calorie side, because I've lost two pounds since the start, meaning I've been at a healthy weight loss of one pound a week. Great!

Another struggle has been playing/studying SC2 every day. I simply don't usually open up the SC2 client on my days off. I have tournaments to rewatch and streams to have on the second monitor, but I wanted to push myself to practice or study every day.

The last struggle, and perhaps the biggest, has been the website. Many people have offered their aid, but I haven't seen a way that asking a few specific questions would really help. The big picture was still a mystery to me. The good news is that I've finally sorta-kinda-maybe figured out the general gist of wordpress/elementor and can now google specific questions for specific answers. I'd like to say I'm in the 'smooth sailing' part of the build now (creating content for each individual page) but I'm doubtful that's true. Something will break, or I'll find out the mobile version is l-i-t-e-r-a-l-l-y broken.

So far this challenge has been worthwhile and I've learned quite a bit about myself. Here's to keeping on track for the 8/8 rewards!
