Patreon's Looming Stance of Non-Consensual Fantasy Transformation Porn

Hello,

Around a week ago I heard that Patreon was starting to go after hypnosis related Patrons. I didn’t look into the details very seriously at first because a lot of patrons get temporary suspensions through minor things like putting erotic content in their headers, but it got my ear on the ground. However, within the last day, I’ve caught word that explicitly transformation, feminization, sissification, and bimbofication where concent wasn’t clear were under the axe and being included within the zero tolerance policy against sexual violence.

There are two major things I want to address here. The first is a counter argument to this stance. The second are the immediate changes to my Patreon with this new policy.

I’ve only seen direct evidence for the hypnosis ban; the source I have on transformation is a twitter post I was linked a few times. If I’m honest, the verbage used is so robust and integrated into a knowledge of porn kinks (specifically using the terms bimbofication and sissification by a company is eye raising), I would not be surprised if it was a hoax or dramatised for whatever purpose. I might just be yelling into a void where nothing’s on the line, but I’ll take the chance of wasted effort for the sake of justifying my creative existence.

TF Porn as Sexual Violence:

Transformation, feminization, sissification, and bimbofication porn are not sexual violence.

Porn, particularly written, illustrated, listenable, and animated porn where sex fantasies can truly be unbound, is sexual catharsis. Transformation porn thrives in this fantasy environment and it’s one of the few places where it can exist. Oftentimes, this involves a fictional party that is not totally willing to endure the transformation. This is a mainstay of the medium and it’s very hard to fully separate non-consenting transformation from transformation as a whole.

Back in early 2018, I tried to sit down and justify my enjoyment of non-consenting situations. This is what I eventually decided on as a justification:

“Everything here is meant to be presented and enjoyed as an idealized fantasy akin to a dream with all the uncomfortable aspects that ground it to reality routed out. There’s some content here that would be mortifying to experience in real life. Forced feminization, characters being humiliated for their sexual orientation, incest, and that’s not even touching some of the ludicrous content in my grosser fetishistic stories . All content like this is made to be enjoyed as a fantasy and nothing I’d wish on someone non-consensually in real life.”

To this day, I stand by this. This is not bureaucratic whistleblowing for the sake of covering my ass, this is genuinely what I believe. There’s a certain assumption in porn that the consumer is a functioning adult who can separate reality from fantasy. This is the assumption we already makes with other cathartic interests like horror movies and violent video games. We present these things in an environment where adults should be the only ones who access them. We do this because we know they’re preprogrammed well enough by society to realize what is and isn’t acceptable to do as an actual human being.

Sane people do not watch a horror movie and rip someone in half with a chainsaw. Sane people do not play Grand Theft Auto and immediately steal a car. Sane people do not watch pornography and assume they can approach a stranger for sex by sticking their dick in the middle of a pizza box. We don’t do these things because the real life implications that are hand-waved away in fiction for the sake of an entertaining experience, experiences that are often uniquely gratifying in ways other forms of media can’t provide, are there and constantly weigh on our mind. Consuming this sort of media in a healthy quantity is not going to warp anyone into a serial killer, car thief, or sex assailant.

This is an issue that the BDSM community has been tackling for years. The community is praiseworthy for putting these philosophies of defending kinks into stone. Good BDSM thrives on the three golden rules: safe, sane, and consensual. Both parties establish their limits, both parties agree to what can and can’t be done for them in fantasy and reality, and both parties make things explicitly consensual and effortless to stop. Aftercare comes afterwards to reassure through all the rough stuff that the two parties aren’t emotionally shattered and still mean something more to each other that a piece of meat.

As someone who writes transformation porn, I’ve attempted to emulate this with my work. These sort of assumptions are what I want in a reader’s head before they read non-consenting transformation. My major efforts are that previous statement and acting friendly towards / as a member of the LGBT community to reassure others I think of them as more than sex objects. I’ve dropped a few words from my vocabulary and I’ve gone up to bat a few times to stop things I thought were homophobic or transphobic. The message I’ve tried to send since I started to really get into writing smut is that I’m not a fantasy sex character and real life people aren’t either.

I’ve grown familiar enough with my readers to know I mainly write for bicurious men, gay men, and trans women. I myself am pan and comfortably male. My readers are not a bunch of random psychopaths who all converge on my content because they want to see someone’s real life broken; they’re people who see a unique sexual catharsis in fantasy depictions of kinks like this. It’s some odd human nature wrapped in mild degradation that’s hard to even fully explain. This sort of content is very powerful; it’s a source for good. For many, it was their first step towards learning their orientation or their bottled up transgenderism and their first step towards finding accepting and supportive communities

To extend the scope of sexual violence to include forced transformation, expansion, bimbofication, sissification, and muscle growth is a total joke. It’s a flashback back to the days where anal was considered so deviant in the 90s it could be tried as a crime.

It’s cruel to see Patreon dressed up for pride month but neglect a major component of the whole experience: sex positivity. To see another platform I enjoy gradually sink their heads lower and lower into the sand and pretend sex doesn’t exist like Apple and Tumblr is heartbreaking and sadly unsurprising. It’s a shame just about every site that has both porn and some artistic integrity like Tumblr and Patreon is stomping that wonderful aspect of themselves out.

Ultimately, as an erotic writer who benefits finanically off their work, I’m a sex worker and I’m starting to come to terms with these things. Sex work will get stepped on because no one wants to defend sex work. Obviously, treating people’s work with some respect isn’t worth the raised eyebrows, chuckles, and whispers. It’ll live, of course. Sex work will crawl to whatever it has next because it’s an undieing phoenix that has always existed and will continue to exist so long as humanity is humanity. The kinky bits will live on just as strong as the body. It’ll find some new home, then be stomped out right as things are getting comfortable again, again and again and again. It’s fine though, I’m sure I’ll always be horny enough to take it.

Immediate Changes To My Patreon:

The Patreon is not ending anytime soon. I will be using the platform until I’m kicked off.

I’m going to be stripping away a lot of the lavishing on my content on Patreon that hints at transformative content.

Stories are going to be stripped into a pretty bare state. They’ll be reduced to a title of “New story!”, a disclaimer not to share the piece, and a link to the piece (and a disclaimer if need be if it contains bathroom stuff). Stories I uploaded as is come with the title and description in tow, so I don’t think this is really too major a change.

The monthly poll story will still be written and posted within the next week or two, but its actual poll will be deleted. Future polls might also be deleted after they’re held or conducted elsewhere.

I may scrap a majority of my posts from before May within the next few days just because I don’t have the energy to adjust each of them to blur their content. They should all be public already, so feel free to use tumblr or ao3 to read them.

There may be a point where I need to delete links to specific pieces of content to appease a temporary ban. If you’d like this content and can prove you’re a patron, please contact me over discord for the story at that point. I’ll give more details if something like that should happen.

Should the worst happen… I might not be in gear for a day or two to start. It’d be such a huge loss for me. Patreon has helped with my living so much and I’d be absolutely brokenhearted to lose it.

That said, if it happens, I’ll try and fulfill any lingering patron rewards. If the month’s monthly story was voted on, I’ll finish that. If anyone’s paid for a monthly micro fic, I’ll make sure they have that. I’ll probably set up some email system for everything when the actual comet hits.

Thanks for reading my content so far. Paid or unpaid, I don't see it stopping anytime soon.
