Remember those plans I told you about? Here is a breakdown of Phase 1.

In 4 days I'm moving my family from San Francisco, back to Omaha, Nebraska, where my wife and I have spent the last year designing and building the home that we've wanted since we were married. This means that I'm going to be "off the grid" for the rest of June as we deconstruct life in California, and put it back together in Nebraska. So what does that mean? It means lots of positive change with family, job, and shows (YES SHOWS).

I AM NOT LEAVING TWITCH! In fact, a part of my move is due to the new role that I've taken at Twitch (Director of Creator Development), and my desire to travel more and make it much easier for my family when I travel (our family and support system is back in NE). This move allows me to throw myself back into my work in a way that I've been wanting to do for sometime. More on that in a bit...

The biggest reason for moving is because of family and miniWHEAT. He has been home schooled for the past 4 years in San Francisco, and while JenJen has been an amazing learning coach, miniWHEAT is about to start 8th grade and we wanted to give him more opportunity to be in-school social. We had planned on doing this for 2020, but when the opportunity arose to do it a year earlier... we gave HIM the option and he said LETS DO IT! miniWHEAT will be returning to school in the Fall! Being closer to family means that it's much easier on all of us when I travel, which I expect to be doing more for the new role.

Before I talk about my shows, let's talk about Twitch Weekly. It is not going away. We still have big plans for the show, and I think you'll like them, but we're not ready to talk about them QUITE yet!

In other show news... I plan to revive OneMoreGame (and/or it's new big sister) and bring back Live On Three by the end of this year. 2009 marked the 10 year anniversary for the show... and Esports has never needed it more than RIGHT NOW. LO3 isn't the only show I plan to revive, but I'm not quite ready to talk about that yet either. Let's just say that show creation is back on the table, and I'm very excited to reveal all of the plans in the coming year. Moving back to NE will give me the time and the space to bring this all back to life again and I'm VERY excited to make that happen.

Speaking of Development, I want to make Omaha a streaming destination. I want to create a city where internet is amazing, the cost of living is incredible, and the support structure for streamers is there. I think this is the future. This is a part of my own endeavors, and one I plan to put a ton of personal time into. The next few years are the years I want streamers to look at how much they are making, and then think about where they are living. That's more of a Phase 2 project in all of this.

I still have so much to do to complete this move, and I'm sorry I haven't been able to say much until now. The cat is now out of the bag, and the only thing I ask of you is to be patient as we get through this fairly insane time.

The only sadness around the move is knowing that our wonderful cat, Kikumaru, won't be coming back to Nebraska with us. It made his passing even more difficult, but he will always have a spot in our new home. =^_^=

Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the past 5 years as I left Omaha and made it out to San Francisco. The past 5 years has been absolutely amazing, and despite both ups and downs, I met so many new life friends, helped build TwitchCon, Twitch Studios, and launch things like Stream On, Co-Streaming, and our E3 Coverage. Despite my excitement of moving back home... I'm sad that I will be leaving an awesome city filled with amazing people. But don't worry... I'll be back on the regular.

So there it is... PHASE 1 in the djWHEAT CINEMATIC UNIVERSE. Sometime near the end of July I will report how things went and then start to reveal plans for PHASE 2! Now that the news is public, expect some road trip tweeting, pictures, and some "putting the house together" pictures. Stream will resume in July from the new studio!

Happy to answer any questions, but thanks for reading, and I hope you'll join me for the new journey.
