My response to Mapperific's response

(For those of you who haven't read his side of the story yet, make sure you do so, first. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IeGnlIGx4r7w04N_L5SLkM1z0cBsKX_N-hQ7YiCZ5t0/edit)

My response to Mapperific's explanation:
I first joined the server one or two days after ibxtoycat posted his video on the server.
I was just a random outsider who was lucky enough to quickly gain the trust of the owners, and therefore getting developer rank.
Like Map said, I immediately "took over", setting up a dedicated server and working to fix all the issues the server was having due to the large amounts of players joining.
What Map said about my experience, is somewhat false.
Because I once mentioned the network "VeltPvP" as an example of an HCF server, which by the way, is the community that I'm from, he took it as if I'd been staff there. I was never.
I come from a background of working for and owning smaller servers within the HCF community, the biggest being my own server, Forcide, which at its peak, hit about 470 players.
Geographica for me, is next level. The support we have gained from the players lately has been insane, and I'm glad you're still here, after all that's happened.

When I had upgraded the host for the first time, I did not give the others access to it from the start, as I still had files from my previous servers there, that I preferred to keep private.
Nobody hated on me for that, and once I had downloaded and deleted those files, I gave them access.
The newer, better dedi, with an i9-9900k and 64gb ram, I'm pretty sure I gave them the details of, right away.

In order to prevent lag, I strongly recommended the others to NOT touch the plugins and mess around with adding more, as more plugins is often equal to more lag, which we clearly didn't want.
I was never told that Dread and the others didn't like that, so I guessed they were fine with it. According to Map, they weren't tho.
"It started to seem that everything we did had to go through Edvio himself" is partly correct.
I did not want anyone to do stupid things to accidentally mess up the server performance, which at the time was still quite bad.

"And he was at this point, the de facto owner. Nobody liked it"
Also partly true. Since I joined, I have been the one with ownership of: PayPal, Store, Dedicated Servers & Domain.
I agree that it's not the best for a developer to own all of that, but once again, nobody complained.
Map is claiming nobody liked it, but I was never told that. If I was, maybe something would have changed.

Map wanted to get rid of me. He's claiming everyone agreed with him, which to be honest, I highly doubt, because the owners are nice people.
At that point, getting rid of me would mean: Losing all the money from donations, losing all the files, losing the domain, and I really don't think anyone would have wanted that to happen.

"daN wanted to get the money back, it was a few thousand after all, and sought to confront him personally"
Out of the people that I paid, daN was probably the one who received the most money.

Map is claiming I would never give everyone a fair share. That is correct. I'm not gonna pay people who for example aren't active or don't do anything good for the server.
When Map "confronted" me with that question about splitting the money fairly, he started to be annoying.

Let me list the things Map has done to mess up the server:
- He accidentally deleted all the playerdata from the world folder, even tho I had told him, in person, to NOT do that.
- He caused the server to crash multiple times using for example WorldEdit.
- He installed lots of unneccessary plugins, for example an "antilag" plugin, when we already had one that worked just fine.

Those reasons are part of why I didn't want to pay him. When he started asking about fair shares, I figured he was only doing it so he himself could get a large sum of money. Greedy.
So I told him "can you just stop already".
BY THE WAY, Map did not even have a PayPal account set up for himself. In the beginning, I was considering paying him a bit, but couldn't, as he had no PayPal account.

"A day or two later, we got into an argument again"
It was the same day, just a few hours later.
He had added those plugins I talked about before, which caused the tps to drop below 10, which was rare. The argument escalated, cause I had had enough of his shit, so I told him my honest opinion.
He thinks he knows what he's doing, and thinks he's better than everyone at owning servers, but that's clearly not the case.
At that point, the whole team had taken my side, and we decided it was time to get rid of him.
I changed the dedi password, but due to the playercount at the time, I didn't want to restart the entire thing, which is the easiest way of kicking someone out if they're logged in.
All of a sudden, factions dissapeared. I figured something was up, and panicked and shut down the entire dedi. By that time, it was already too late.
He had already deleted our backup from a day earlier, and the only ones we have left are those from before the dedi transfers.
We figured it was better for everyone to get a fresh start, than having some people keep their things and the majority not keeping them.
Also, with a fresh map, we can more easily reduce the lag, before it actually happens.

All that Map wanted to do, was to get rid of me. Because of that, instead of ruining just my work, he ruined everyone's.
All the players that had worked hard to set up their nations, their progress is all gone.
He wanted to prevent the server from falling into my hands.
I'm still a developer. I don't have ownership of the Discord server. I can't, and don't want to, run the server by myself.
I don't yet know much about how this community functions, so I definitely don't know how to run a good server by myself within this community.

What Map did is unforgivable, but I hope I haven't done anything that bad. I just want to help the server.

This is a major fall for us as a network, but we will come back. We will come back stronger than ever, just wait.
