YOU DON'T ALWAYS TURN TO FACE THE PERSON WHO JUST HIT YOU UNLIKE IN PAST GAMES

So while playing the game this weekend one of the biggest things I noticed is I was not always being turned around after being hit. For those who don't know in past smash games any time you get hit your character turns to face the person who just hit them. In this game this isn't always the case. So I did some testing.

Why is this important to know? Because there are instances where you get hit and you are not facing the person who just hit you which changes your options you have after this hit. For instance if I'm playing Young Link and I get hit off stage while facing offstage but I didn't get turned to face the person who just hit me, I'm know facing the blast zone meaning while recovering I can't zair unless I first turn around somehow which while in the air is very hard to do.

So here's what I found, moves with little knock back, or don't send you into tumble will turn you around, so if you get jabbed in the back you will turn to face them, or for example, sonic back air at low percent doesn't send you into tumble so you will get turned around. This also means that certain multi hit moves will turn you around because the first hit is weak enough to not put you in tumble and turns you around before the final strong hit. Example Young Link back air, the first hit isn't strong enough to put you in tumble so it turns you around before the second hit which knocks you away

Moves that hit you primarily vertically will also turn you around. I was using sonic for my testing so sonic up smash and uptilt do turn you to face the person who hit you if you are hit in the back.

WHAT DOESN'T TURN YOU TO FACE THE PERSON WHO HIT YOU. Moves that send you horizontally, generally single hits, and put you in tumble WILL NOT TURN YOU TO FACE THE PERSON WHO HIT YOU Example: https://clips.twitch.tv/SeductiveOptimisticShrewStrawBeary
as you can see in this clip, Sonic back airs the Wolf, Wolf is facing left before being hit and is still facing left after being hit despite being hit from the right

I don't have a list of all moves that do and don't turn you maybe if I get bored I'll do it, but I tested sonic back air, sonic fsmash, bowser fsmash, bowser down tilt, young link nair, young link down smash. Of these cause the enemy to turn and face me after getting hit in the back

TLDR: If you get hit horizontally and put into tumble you will not turn to face the who hit you, so be careful and be aware of what direction you are facing after being hit
