Big news! I am moving out of my moms basement!
May 24th is the date. I’ll be flying to Vietnam and live my life there for an undertermined period. Will stay there for as long as I enjoy it. This was mainly the reason why my streaming has been so inconsistent lately. I had lot’s of personal business to take care of before the move. Taking care of paperwork, Hanging out with IRL friends I won’t be seeing anymore etc.
Why Vietnam?
I’ve been living in The Netherlands for 26 years and it has gotten very boring.
As you all know I never cook my own food. Vietnam having the best tasting, cheap and widely available takeaway/street food is a huge factor. The fact that I am Vietnamese and speak the language fluently obviously also plays a big role. And lets not forget about the weather. I love sun, sun is great.
What does this mean for the stream in the future?
The Majority of this month there will be very little amount of streams as I’ll be busy setting up my life in Vietnam. I did some research on the internet over there, I’ll be paying 300-400$ per month for the best internet possible so I can continue growing my stream as usual. 3rd world countries generally have shitty internet, so it is the thing I am most nervous about. Unfortunately there won’t be mom bringing me food during my streams anymore, but luckily there is plenty of good food over there :)
What does this mean for competetive Hearthstone?
Tourstops:
I talked with Blizzard months ago about this move, and according to the rules I will be an official APAC resident. This means I will be playing in the APAC tourstop qualifiers/ APAC playoffs. This weeks EU winter playoffs is the last tournament I will be playing for the Europemregion.
Last Call:
Since I will be an APAC resident for 2/3rd of the competetive year this means for last call my current 53 HCT points will be moved over and I will also be competing for last call in APAC. this is very important information for guys like Ryvius, Surrender, Tom60229, Glory, blitzchung. As they are currently in the top of APAC standings.
Hearthstone Global games:
The timing is very awkward since voting will start soon, but based on when the tournament actually takes place. There is a very good chance I will be put in the Vietnamese HGG team. For The Netherlands that means there is another slot available! I am pretty sure the team would’ve been locked in and people would’ve voted Thijs, Mitsuhide and Theo. The same team that did well last year. But since I’m gone the 4th spot is up for grabs!
(Blizzard has not confirmed this 100% with me as they are looking into the ruling as we speak.)
I’ve been planning the big move for the last half year and am super excited! Also hope to get to know the APAC region better and meet many people there :)
Thanks for reading!
