Why I have been streaming less, not a drama story, just an explanation :P
I am writing this tweet just so I don't have to answer everyone time when someone asks in chat: ''Tyler why have you been streaming less".
I have been streaming way less than usual these past 2 months. Compared to my usual 200 hours+ I only streamed 120 hours in June and 100 hours in July. There were 2 reasons for this.
First of all I was traveling to events a lot more than usual. Dream hack Sweden + Valencia and seat story cup. Now this brings me to the second point. The reason I was going to these events was because I was trying to win "Last call". A lot of you may not know what this means so I will explain it briefly.
This year the number 1 HCT point earner from each region gets a direct spot to the world championship which has and always will be my ultimate end goal. I was number 1 in points for 5 months until I failed to finish high on ladder one month and fell to second place behind Sintolol, who is now first. In order to catch up to him I needed to do well in one of the major LAN events to get more HCT points. But as a result it affected the amount of hours I could stream due to traveling bad internet at the venues/hotel etc.
Another reason why I streamed less, especially near the end of the season was because I noticed my win rate would drop by a solid 2-3% when playing on stream without a delay. Now don't get me wrong I would be the last person to complain about stream-snipers. I think that if you are a streamer it is a your own choice to stream without a delay and potentially get sniped. And obviously the reason why we all stream without a delay is because the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Better chat interaction, means more viewers, etc. etc. That being said, I was committed to getting that last call spot, so I neglected the stream for a few weeks just so I could maximize my chances to finish high on ladder.
In the end I am still 2nd place for last call, but failed to catch up to Sintolol who is like 20 points or something ahead of me. I have now completely given up on Last call and decided to stop slacking and focus on streaming full time again. I felt quite bad about it and thought you guys deserved an explanation regarding my absence.
TLDR: I realized trying to be the number 1 HCT point earner in Europe while being a full time streamer is a misplay.
