Call for Abstracts and Proposals for Symposia
Submission is now open for Abstracts and Proposals for Symposia to be presented at the Third Lisbon International Conference on Philosophy of Science: Contemporary Issues. The Conference will take place in Lisbon between the
14th and the 16th of December 2016.
The Lisbon International Conferences on Philosophy of Science are biennial conferences organized by the Centre of Philosophy of Sciences of the University of Lisbon [cfcul.fc.ul.pt]. The conferences are directed to a wide audience
with interests in the philosophy of science broadly conceived. Reflecting the main lines of research of our Centre, we are especially interested in subjects related to:
· Epistemology and Methodology;
· Philosophy of the Natural Sciences;
· Philosophy of the Life Sciences;
· Philosophy of the Human Sciences, Ethics, and Politics;
· Science and Art.
However, we invite Abstracts and proposals for Symposia on any topic of interest in philosophy of science.

Registration fees
The registration fee will be 50 € for students and 100 € for non-students. More information on this is available on our website: http://lisbonicpos.campus.ciencias.ulisboa.pt.
Coffee breaks are included.
Submissions
English is the official language of the Conference. All talks including handouts, data show presentations, and other software assistant materials should be presented in English.
Documents should be prepared for anonymous review: all information that could identify the author(s) should be suppressed from the submitted file. Failing to respond to this requirement will oblige us to withhold the submission
until the proper changes have been made to the document. Double-blind review is assured for all: the scientific committee will not be granted access to the identity(ies) of the author(s).
Participations are limited to one presentation per speaker.

a. Format of Abstract submissions
Communications will have a 30 minutes time slot. We recommend leaving 5-10 minutes for questions and answers. Abstracts should be titled and 500 words maximum (excluding bibliographical references). Importantly, they
should be prepared for blind-review.
b. Format of Proposals for Symposia submissions
Symposia are 90 minutes formats for connected presentations. Ideally they are aimed to include 3 presenters. However, Symposia with a different number of speakers will be accepted if the 90 minutes duration is respected.
Together with the requirements described above, proposals for Symposia must include:
- Title of Symposium proposed;
- A description of the topic and a justification of its current importance to the discipline (max. 500 words);
- Titles and Abstracts for all talks (with individual Abstracts not surpassing 500 words);
