"I dont like audio compression" is a really weird thing to say when we've been compressing our Youtube audio since 2011. Most people don't really understand audio, they just have things they are used to and things that they aren't and will say "I don't like it" in response to change, even when it actually brings our streams much closer to our regular Youtube videos in terms of audio quality. Look, we know it needs tweaking. There's a reason it was a test-run. Compression is here to stay. Every industry on the planet that uses audio uses compression. There's a science to it. We will tweak it to improve the sound. We might add more modules to the chain and buy more equipment. We aren't getting rid of the compression though. I should have started using it years ago on my live stuff. Large variance in vocal dynamics in a commentary setting is in my view, objectively bad production. Fixing that is a good thing. I'm getting advice from real audio engineers on how to improve it, so please, dial back the yelling on the subject a little. Audio is a science. Personal preference of individual viewers isnt going to factor into our decisions. Personally I think you're bonkers if you think Wednesdays stream sounded "worse" than previous streams, even if the settings were imperfect, but hey, thats just my opinion.
