Pro-tip to avoid pissing off the people you like watching, do not criticise how they interact with their friends on a stream or in a video. These people are all adults and they handle their relationships as such. What you get to see on camera is at most a little snippet of what the real relationship is. In most cases, you actually see an exaggerated form of it, played up for the camera, because it's more entertaining that way. Is Jesse really going to send Dodger a sack of his own poop for their wedding? No. Do I really hate Crendor for messing up rules in boardgames? No. That's all part of the schtick. Our collabs play on those exaggerated relationships for entertainment value. The Secret Hitler streams in particular are focused almost entirely on the drama of the game, not on the winner. The winner does not at all matter, it's all about putting on an entertaining performance. It bothers me a lot when people have the nerve to come along and tell me how I should act in the presence of my friends. If they had a problem with things I said, they would tell me, because they're adults and that's how adults handle their business. There may be some Youtubers that claim to be "being real" with you all the time. They're bullshitting. Everyone has a persona, to a greater or lesser extent, that they play up for the camera. You cannot know the nature of a relationship between two on-camera personalities. What we choose to show you is controlled. What you see is a snapshot, a highlight reel. We make reality TV but with videogames and just like reality TV, there's a kernel of truth there, buried in exaggeration and facade for the camera. Not to mention it's goddamn rude to be telling people they don't know how to interact with each other. Didn't your mother ever teach you manners? Tut tut!
