It is a manic, demonic, grotesque, hallucinatory, fetishistic juggernaut, ravenously consuming all your senses—not just seen and heard, but also felt, smelt and tasted. Relentlessly defying both expectation and belief, it leaves one gasping raggedly for breath, a pulse-pounding fever dream flawlessly realized and impeccably executed. It is a new high watermark in action filmmaking, but more importantly, it is one of the most powerful feminist standards ever raised, a movie reveling in, nay, lionizing the strength, resolve and indomitable fortitude of the so-called fairer sex.
