Once upon a time there was a guy. Let's call him Brandan. Brandan was fanatical about #StarTrek. He's the kind of fan who has seen every show and film a dozen times. He's read hundreds of the novels. He owns countless models and toys. He even goes to the conventions. Yeah, *that* kind of fan. He prides himself on his knowledge of "Trek" trivia. Brandan also has a degree in cinema from one of the most prestigious film schools in the country. He likewise prides himself on his knowledge of film history, from the most trivial item to the most sweeping. Film and television is how he makes a living. He especially loves the science fiction genre. So you can imagine that it came as quite a shock to, let's say, Brandan, to finally, after more than four decades of life, put two and two together and realize that actor #GaryLockwood played both Lt. Commander Gary Mitchell in the original "Star Trek" pilot episode, "Where No Man Has Gone Before" as well as astronaut Frank Poole in Kubrick's seminal #2001: A Space Odyssey." Brandan is very, very ashamed with himself and feels more than a little silly. Brandon, however, knew this all along.
