4Chan helps raise over $5000 in one day for women

So in the last 24 hours I have had wonderful messages from such colorful characters as a Political Party devoted to Piracy @NYPirateParty, a planet smashing rock @Ziltoidwasright and many people who are interested in gender politics who heard about the project, from all places, 4Chan.

But the curse of the Internet is that I only listen to my critiques. And they all say one thing. People aren’t supporting the project because they care about women, they are doing so out of spite. Spite against a person that did nothing wrong, but speak her mind, albeit loudly, about what she thought about this project.

And it’s important to understand that it wasn’t just one voice that told us not to do the project it was many. When I engaged with a group that focused on Woman Designing Games as a nonprofit, they said that they only wanted to focus on education and not giving their members business opportunities. When I told them that I think men would be more interested if they got a game they could play, they laughed in my face saying men would not support them.

I believe honestly that the majority of people that are supporting the project are doing so because they like the games that were presented to them, and like the concept of the project. And the reason they’re supporting woman in this case, is they’re not being talked down too.

But I could be wrong, so to test this point I’m proposing this HashTag #4Chan4Woman. In the past TFYC did videos explaining feminist theory in video game. They can be seen here.

We would like to do that again using this hashtag, any member of 4Chan can propose their idea and we’ll take the most popular one based on Twitter retweeting, etc, and make it into a video in the same way as we did before. Since 4Chan has helped raise over $5000 dollars in 1 day the video will include 4Chan’s logo as they helped us so much.

I am worried this will go badly and people will want us to focus on the individual who started this drama. So I ask you as a man to group of people doing it all for the Lulz. If you aren’t a hate group tell us what you’d actually want explained so not only people from 4Chan but the entire internet can see where your actual interests lie.

Lastly I only suggest using a HashTag because few journalists take us seriously. With HashTags like #CancelColbert some how appearing on CNN it seem to be the only way of getting mainstream media attention. And if you think that isn’t strange… well then what is so odd about 4Chan supporting women.
