Thoughts on tonight's Moon landing rebroadcast: I loved seeing everything in context, from Neil's "small step" to Buzz's "magnificent desolation." I loved watching them change out the camera lenses to provide better views, and sweep the horizon for a panoramic shot of the landing site. I loved watching them mount Old Glory, and receive the call congratulating them on their feat by the President of the United States. But what I was struck by most of all was the astronauts' absence of enthusiasm. I don't mean that as a negative. Even though they recognize that they are the first humans in all of history to step on a world other than the one on which they were born, they remained utter and consummate professionals. Risk literally was their business. #Apollo11 #45YearsAgoTonight
