Programs like this (and the superb #ThePlanets) are always good reminders that, while the #UnitedStates may have won the Moon, and thereby the so-called #SpaceRace, it lost to #Russia every critical milestone leading up to it--first satellite in space, first animal in space, first man in space, first woman in space (the first American woman was still decades away), first duel manned space mission, first spacewalk, first probe on the Moon, first images from the Moon, and many, many others. Americans are rightly proud of their achievements in space, but it does not belittle or cheapen those achievements to temper them with a little historical humility.
