It's amazing how the introduction of facts can utterly reshape a dialogue. I recall, in the community of my youth, that this woman was a figure of absolute scorn and derision--a standard bearer for all that was wrong with America. But it turns out, the only ones worthy of that scorn are those who maligned her to score easy political points based on misinformation and unfounded claims. Facts matter, folks. Evidence is critical. Without it, silence is best. History makes fools of many.
