One of the cardinal rules of screenwriting is that your protagonist must always be advancing the plot; he/she cannot be merely an observer. Which is why this bombshell from last night's #BigBangTheory, addressing the narrative failures of #RaidersOfTheLostArk, stings so much. This is a classic case of the exception proving the rule.
