I traveled to Shanghai (the fastest-growing city in the world with 10% growth every year for the past 20 years; now boasting 23.4 million inhabitants) just a couple of years ago and reveled in the forest of skyscrapers that dominate the financial district. This image is astonishing for two reasons: 1) Shanghai went from flat as a pancake to futuristic metropolis is fewer than 20 years, and 2) the new 125-story Shanghai Tower, China's tallest building and the world's second tallest skyscraper (far right), wasn't even started when I was there.
