Stop your snickering! Not all animals can be beautiful (that this one resembles a human penis certainly doesn't help matters). This is atretochoana eiselti, a blind Brazilian water snake rediscovered less than a year ago after engineers drained a hydroelectric dam on the Amazon. The meter-long creatures are not actually snakes at all, but rather limbless amphibians, more closely related to salamanders and frogs. The eiselti lack lungs, and it is thought that they breathe through their skin. #StayCuriousMyFriends
